Back in 1920, Bernard Moster, the company’s founder, stated “We will only produce goods in the best quality” and since then we have been producing high-quality products and providing first-class service in the paint and varnish industry. Today, Chromos paints and varnishes covers a 100,000 m2 production facility in the capital city of Zagreb with an annual production of 15,000 tons. Each of our company’s 150 employees strives every day towards a common goal: to ensure the success of our customers by applying top-quality products and systems from our product range.
Local advantages intertwined with global knowledge
The Chromos paints and varnishes company has gone through numerous changes throughout its history. During World War II, it operated under the name Perunika, and in 1950 it joined the Chromos-Katran-Kutrilin combine, where it remained until the 1990s, when it regained its independence. Dedicated and high-quality work over many years has brought results, and since 2001, Chromos paints and varnishes has become an integral part of the HELIOS Group, and consequently, since 2017, a part of the Japanese KANSAI PAINT Group, which is one of the world leaders in the coatings industry. The new market position has enabled access to global trends and global knowledge transfer in the field of research and development. Even in these challenging times, Chromos manages to maintain steady growth by combining global trends and best practices with local excellence.

Throughout history, the high-quality Chromos paint and varnish range has contributed to improving and protecting the appearance of numerous famous buildings in Croatia, such as historic buildings in the city center of Zagreb, famous hotels on the Opatija Riviera and many others. However, the use of products from the Chromos paint and varnish range can be found far beyond the borders of our beautiful country. Numerous awards received, as well as domestic and foreign certificates, are a recognition of the innovative spirit and advanced production solutions of renowned brands, such as Luxal, Chromoden, Fasadex, Chromolux, Poliflor, Roof Expert and Floor Expert.
